Cookie, Email and SMS Communications Note

How FlipFit should handle cookies, analytics, email, SMS, and CASL consent.

Draft notice

This page is draft website copy for FlipFit and is not legal advice. FlipFit should have an Ontario lawyer review the final version before public launch.

Cookies and analytics

FlipFit may use cookies/local storage to keep users signed in, remember settings, improve performance, understand general usage, and protect against fraud or abuse. Avoid analytics that unnecessarily profile minors or collect sensitive information.

Service messages

FlipFit may send service messages for account verification, safety notices, listing updates, message alerts, support, policy updates, and transaction-related notifications.

Marketing and CASL

  • Marketing emails/SMS should be sent only where permitted by Canada’s anti-spam laws.
  • Where consent is required, FlipFit should ask first and keep consent records.
  • Marketing messages should identify FlipFit and include unsubscribe instructions.

Social sharing

FlipFit should use native share sheets, copy links, and user-approved share cards. It should not scrape contacts, auto-DM friends, or post to a user’s social account automatically.
